Can I get housing benefit for a studio?

Yes, you can apply for housing benefit (huurtoeslag) for a studio if it is an independent living space with its own entrance, kitchen and sanitary facilities. Since 2026, there is no longer a maximum rent limit to qualify. The benefit is calculated up to a maximum of €932.93 (age 21+). From age 21, you qualify for full housing benefit.
